Need help paying for Medicare?

If you have limited income and assets, you may qualify for a Medicare Savings Program to help you pay your Medicare costs.

There are four types of Medicare Savings Programs

Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) Program

What it can help pay for:

  • Part A premium
  • Part B premium
  • Deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments

Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB) Program

What it can help pay for:

  • Medicare Part B premiums

Qualifying Individual (QI) Program

What it can help pay for:

  • Medicare Part B premiums

Qualified Disabled and Working Individuals (QDWI) Program

What it can help pay for:

  • Medicare Part B premiums

Plan D premium and drug cost assistance

Help paying for prescription drugs and Part D coverage is available through a federal program called Extra Help.

  • The amount of Extra Help you receive is based on your income and resources.
  • If you qualify, you can join a Medicare Part D plan at any time without paying a penalty.

If you qualify for Extra Help, you will likely pay:

  • No premiums
  • No deductibles
  • No more than $8.50 for each drug our plan covers*
